Inmarsat FleetBroadband multiple voice calls now available via GMN RedPort VoIP

Up to 8 simultaneous calls over an unmodified Inmarsat FleetBroadband terminal can be accessed today with GMN RedPort VoIP over satellite service.

MARYVILLE, TN FEBRUARY 8, 2011 – Global Marine Networks (GMN), the leaders in advancing satellite data services, today announced the immediate availability of placing up to eight simultaneous voice calls via Inmarsat FleetBroadband terminals, when used with its RedPort satellite VoIP phone service. RedPort VoIP, and its multiple voice call capability, works with all FleetBroadband terminals including FB150, FB250 and FB500 models with no modifications needed.
By taking advantage of Inmarsat VLA and SCAP data rates, RedPort VoIP service gives ship operators several advantages over standard Inmarsat voice service, including:
–       Immediate ability to place multiple simultaneous calls
–       Rates to the most commonly called destinations as low as 50% off of Inmarsat suggested retail pricing of $0.55/minute
–       A fully-featured PBX included with each RedPort VoIP router
Multiple satellite VoIP calls can be placed by using the RedPort VoIP router’s built-in PBX, or through either four or eight analog phone lines depending on the router model chosen.
RedPort satellite VoIP calling rates to the most commonly called destinations are as low as 50% off of Inmarsat suggested retail pricing of $0.55/minute, including the FleedBroadband data usage required for VoIP service. RedPort VoIP users get up to 20 minutes of calling time per 1MB of FleetBroadband data. Ship operators can access low postpaid pricing while offering affordable prepaid voice calls to crew and passengers at a markup to generate revenue. Unlimited voice calling between RedPort VoIP customers is also available for a flat monthly fee. Additional pricing information, including monthly access and router costs is available at https://www.redportglobal.com.
Each RedPort VoIP Router includes a fully featured PBX, which allows for a virtually unlimited number of extensions, and all standard PBX functions, allowing a vessel to function as a “satellite office” of an onshore company.
Inmarsat named Global Marine Networks “Most Successful Solution Developer of 2011” in part thanks to the development of the RedPort series of routers, and GMN’s advances in satellite data services for the Inmarsat IsatPhone Pro. As an independent solutions provider, GMN works directly with Inmarsat Service Providers (SPs) and Distribution Providers (DPs) to help them offer their customers best-in-class voice and data services.
